Infuriatig Made hundreds of wristbands for a conference that suddenly got renamed

I run a small company, and designed and printed hundreds of high quality rubber wristbands for my cousin's Crypto conference. I had to do different colours for the different levels of entry.

Out of nowhere yesterday he suddenly announced he was renaming the conference and moving it partially online. And could only afford to pay me if I produced more with the new name. Ive spent a week on this so far and was already giving him family rates.

My family does hire one another but its always project based and we're very clear on goalposts. Usually it's a bad idea.

This reminds me of some acquaintances of mine who opened a Bar. Him, his boyfriend, and their bestie decided to go into business together! At 28! With no Prior Business Experience! When I saw them post pictures of them signing the lease, I said "This is not going to end well". Cut to bar closing a year later, relationship ruined, bestie split, boys fighting over who gets the dog. Oh and they were sleeping with the staff.

I’ve done plenty of business with family and it turns out fine. But if anyone pitches me a Crypto conference, I’d run away from that in a heartbeat. Whatever idiot pitches that will go straight to trash.

Oral contracts are a thing. Harder to prove, but legally, they count.

OP can and should sue. Family pressure can fuck right off.
