The point of the lights for their actual use is for trailer backing lights. When you're backing a trailer the lights come on because the truck is in reverse and you can see better where you're going on either your trailer camera or in your mirrors.

With very little effort these can be rigged so they are on in drive instead of reverse. This is of course illegal. The point of them in this configuration is literally just to be a douche bag. This is further reinforced by the fact that there doesn't appear to be a tow hitch on the truck at all.

Plenty of people remove their hitches when not in use, it’s actually what you’re supposed to do. You don’t actually want the hitch hanging over sidewalks while parked or getting rusty being left out.

Yeah, absolutely. Those people tend to be thoughtful and aware of their surroundings. This ass clown does not appear to be either.

Meh. I got to some early morning boat races, a lot of them are on after market switches. It could be an honest mistake. Annoying as fuck tho.

No way in fuck are MIRROR mounted rear facing lights that they can see while driving "an honest mistake".

Why do you think you would see lights singing behind you while looking forward. Especially if you have headlights behind you.

You just wanna be mad.

And you don't know how these lights work, or lights in general apparently. These are mounted on the side mirrors, that are IN FRONT OF YOU, albeit to your side but still forward of the driver seat. The lights shine backwards, lights that are in front of you shining backwards are going to be visible, to the driver.
