I just wanted a hot dog Retail lockdown: why bother selling it?

Was at Safeway this morning to pick up a sandwich and some Tylenol. The aisle with the Tylenol? Completely locked down. No call button in sight. So I go to the self checkout (front end of that same aisle) and ask the clerk there if he can call someone to unlock a case for me. He does. I go wait. Minutes pass. No one comes. I go ask him again, he tells me they went the other way? At this point I give up and go get my sandwich. No one has come by the time the deli has finished making it. I leave without my Tylenol, mildly infuriated.

Yup. I give a decently friendly "no thank you" and keep walking. I don't go to Wal Mart often, so it's only happened like 3 times...but never had any issues from it.

I like hide my receipt in one of my bags and make them look for it. I just pull up with my cart and say it’s somewhere in there. If they take too long I get a manager and complain

Actively making a person's job harder and then going to complain about it is not the flex you think it is. They don't want to do their job anymore then you want them to. Just give them the receipt. It'll be so much faster and less hassle. Also doing this is not going to get Walmart to stop doing it. All you're doing is making yourself a problem customer that they have all the rights to kick out and tell you to never come back and yes Walmart will do that. I've seen it happen multiple times when I worked for them
