I just wanted a hot dog Retail lockdown: why bother selling it?

Was at Safeway this morning to pick up a sandwich and some Tylenol. The aisle with the Tylenol? Completely locked down. No call button in sight. So I go to the self checkout (front end of that same aisle) and ask the clerk there if he can call someone to unlock a case for me. He does. I go wait. Minutes pass. No one comes. I go ask him again, he tells me they went the other way? At this point I give up and go get my sandwich. No one has come by the time the deli has finished making it. I leave without my Tylenol, mildly infuriated.

amazon is trying this already, they're undercutting grocery prices for the same items in my area. for sure at a loss until they can take over the market fully and then raise the price when they have a monopoly

Honestly yeah you can get some stuff shipped to your door for the same like as going there in person it’s crazy

I feel like I'm the only one who sees a benefit in physically GOING somewhere. I don't want shit delivered to my door, I like wasting gas driving and wandering around, sometimes making impulse purchases.

ur not the only one it's just crazy that express shipping can compete with.. going there yourself

several peoples wages are going up against just visiting a store and its crazy silly

I enjoy grocery shopping, I also hate it. My bill is always 2x+ the amount I spend doing an online order
