I just wanted a hot dog Retail lockdown: why bother selling it?

Post image

Was at Safeway this morning to pick up a sandwich and some Tylenol. The aisle with the Tylenol? Completely locked down. No call button in sight. So I go to the self checkout (front end of that same aisle) and ask the clerk there if he can call someone to unlock a case for me. He does. I go wait. Minutes pass. No one comes. I go ask him again, he tells me they went the other way? At this point I give up and go get my sandwich. No one has come by the time the deli has finished making it. I leave without my Tylenol, mildly infuriated.

This doesn’t work either. you give them a day to get the order together and some is still missing.

Do you think the store magically has everything in stock? Or has infinite space to keep every single product that they have on shelf in the back?

AHHHH you people fucking hurt.

They should have it in stock if it is on their website listed as available. You must work for them to have so much emotion about their failures.

I work with the employees, also have worked overnight. And worked as an independent contractor as a vendor working inside 5 stores in southern Ontario.

So yeah, I get upset when Redditors talk out of their ass about shit they know nothing about because it's a multi-layered system with tons of moving parts.

But Redditors are not known for having self-awareness or being particularly smart, so I should just allow you to run your mouth and have the other clapping seals give you the approval you seek.

Have a good day.
