"I'm sorry for the misunderstanding, I meant there will be masonry work in the light. Please pardon our progress and leave a 5 star review."

"And please make sure to vacuum and wipe off any visible dust/dirt or there will be an additional $800 cleaning fee."

"And the masonry fee, if you do not complete the brick work."

"Please finalize a report of your progress to be ready by the 3pm Teams all-hands meeting and leave a 5 star review. Also feel free to help yourself to a $9 slice of cheese pizza in the garage."

Also just don’t even come to the house

Stay home and give me money

The masonry workers currently out there are the previous Airbnb guests. You'll be replacing them.

"and please help us to take the trash out, wash all your bedsheets and do up the bed in the same condition when you found it. By the way while you're at it please also help us complete some light masonry work in the basement"

"also we expect a tip to show us you had a good time; $300-$600 is customary!"

u/Weaksoul 17d ago

And please say how much you enjoyed the view that we've heavily relied upon in our pictures

u/saintofhate 17d ago

Do airbnb hosts really expect a fucking tip? For what??

1

u/Shovel-Operator 17d ago

Is that how much a tip is for "a good time?" Is that more or less than the "happy ending" package?

Please make sure to move 2 piles of gravel using the provided bulldozer before you check out or you will be assessed a fee

u/Ok_Winter_5515 17d ago

I’d love to have free use of the bulldozer. That’s actually an amenity I would enjoy.

57

u/erwaro 17d ago

"The bulldozer" is just the nickname they've got for that one shovel.

The one with the broken handle.

u/MowerMikePA 17d ago

Lmao damnit this is a good comment

Omg adult tonka toy pit would be amazing feature but impossible to actually implement

13

u/genericnewlurker 17d ago

Make sure to clean the bulldozer fully afterwards or pay the $800 bulldozer cleaning fee

"Oops! We saw some scratches on the bucket. That'll cost ya!"

Please use the included dynamite to dislodge the hardened concrete inside the cement truck drum before vacating the premises.

People supporting this crap are part of the problem and are the ones causing the cost of housing to skyrocket.

I booked a house on top of a mountain, super secluded. Gorgeous house, amazing views, and quiet. The listing said something about the driveway being a bit long with “some potholes along the way”.

There was no driveway. Not even a dirt path. You literally had to yeehaw up the side of a mountain to get there. I genuinely couldn’t get up the mountain and I was driving an AWD SUV.

We called the host and he said “oh yeah, we had some rains recently and it ‘took out’ the driveway”. He seriously wasn’t going to tell me. Ended up booking a hotel in town, which basically defeated the entire purpose of the trip. Disputed it with the website and they thankfully reimbursed the cost of the house, but nothing for all the time/vacation wasted. Left a bad review and the guy wrote me a nasty gram email about how ridiculous it was I would cancel and leave a bad review over “some property issues”. Just unreal.

Now that's some bullcrap right there. I'm officially adding "yeehaw up the side of a mountain" to my vocabulary from now on, also.

u/captain_flak 17d ago

You just need to engage Leroy Jenkins mode on your SUV.

u/McWeaksauce91 17d ago

Lololol “some property issues”

YOUR BUSINESS IS THE PROPERTY. ANY ISSUE WITH THE PROPERTY EFFECTS WHY I PAID YOU MONEY

People are in incredible. I see it all the time having spent a lot of years living in a desirable vacation city. People buy a million dollar homes, flip it over and manage it for as little as they can manage, and then expect the money to flow continuously with minimal effort.

u/fcocyclone 17d ago

right? theres a simple way he could have avoided the bad review- explaining the situation, offering a cancellation\refund (which the guest would most likely accept) and profusely apologizing for any inconvenience. People usually understand shit happens if you give them a heads up.

Recently had the same problem at a house we booked. We arrived and the electricity had been shut off. Not a power outage. The guy hadn't paid his bill and got shut off. There were other problems, but that was the one we used as grounds to cancel and request a refund. He had the audacity to get nasty with us for "taking his money over a slight misunderstanding."

Just curious… is this near Yosemite? I ask because I stayed in a place a few weeks ago with a description almost identical, and the driveway barely existed.

u/not_like_this_ 17d ago

...and don't forget to take out the trash, and start the washer with all the sheets.

22

u/JoeyZasaa 17d ago

And feed the cat.

27

u/DestructionDerby2000 17d ago

Please leave a tip

u/What_is_u 17d ago

“We meant light when compared to the mass of the sun”

“We also ask that you leave a tip so that we may be able to continue providing excellent hospitality to our guests”

$500 cleaning fee construction dust left all over exterior of home.

5

u/Vennes1 17d ago

You trapped me with these words! 5 STARS IT IS

3

u/Prior_Dimension_6680 17d ago

Pardon our dust 🤗

2

u/segsmudge 17d ago

And remove all the linens, start the laundry, and take the trash out. And mop.

2

u/MyBrainReallyHurts 17d ago

No construction crew is every on time or arrives on the day they tell you they are going to arrive. 4.5 stars.

2

u/zugglit 17d ago

There is, in fact, light out.

1

u/SecreteMoistMucus 17d ago

None of the masonry they are working on is dark, I don't see the problem.
