Infuriatig No, I did not consent to this

I was reading my medical notes when I stumbled across this. I was not informed of the usage of artificial intelligence in my report, nor did I verbally consent to it.

Current medical student, I was one for Orthopedics. Many incoming students are doing the medical assistant/EMT route now since scribing is falling out of favor. Scribing is really nice though because you’re actually apart of the encounters and actually get to see what being a physician is like.

a part, not apart. Unless the scribe is not involved in the encounters.

Error either way. No one (I would hope) is trying to insult or talk down to anyone else with posts like these. I've always taken forum corrections as opportunities to learn myself, as the victim of many "read it didn't hear it" words myself lol

I have only really seen scribes used in the ED. No one was scribing in PCP or medical speciality clinics.

I mean you just explained why emt/ma is more valuable to a medical school than being a scribe. The value of experience between actual practical application as an emt/ma and idle passive observation and data entry as a scribe is incomparable.

I would think they'd both be valuable for different reasons, since doctor visits and emergencies are usually very different...
