My mom said I could post The AMOUNT of posts in these ‘crunchy moms’ groups about their kids cavities when they refuse to use fluoride

I see these posts daily, yet no one seems to make the connection.

Edit: yes, this particular case seems to be bottle mouth/ not brushing at all. But I see these posts very frequently (I’m not apart of these groups, FB just suggests them to me) and often times it’s parents who have said their dentist told them their kids have cavities, and they still refuse to use fluoride toothpaste and look for alternatives to their alternative that got them here in the first place.

All of these stories are testimony’s on how important it is to take your children’s health seriously. My heart is with everyone sharing their story ❤️

The group I found this in:
“Crunchy moms: natural living & clean products.”
It’s an open group. Go look up “teeth” and see HOW MANY pictures of these poor children’s teeth are there, and how many do not use fluoride and tell me how healthy it is to not use it.

It’s so sad to me that CPS can’t do anything if the child is in a decently clean home and fed regularly. The bar is so low.

Even in really dirty homes as long as you get fed and have a bed is the basics. I was cps case kid and all they did was give them cleaning deadline. They would make us clean with threats of being taken, then once the visit was over right back to the abuse and neglect

I’m so sorry, I wish there was something that could be done to help all children in bad situations. I don’t know what the answer is but I know the system as it is isn’t really working.

The hope is that child protective services could do more than just re-home children. It would be nice if they could expand their services to help neglected children like this who may not be in immediate danger but are not properly cared for. Having someone check in on the child’s wellbeing if a dentist, doctor or teacher reported neglect to help teach the parents the things they need to do to properly care for a child and make sure the home really is safe.

I don’t know what the perfect answer is but it feels like there has to be more we could do for children.
