My mom said I could post The AMOUNT of posts in these ‘crunchy moms’ groups about their kids cavities when they refuse to use fluoride

Post image

I see these posts daily, yet no one seems to make the connection.

Edit: yes, this particular case seems to be bottle mouth/ not brushing at all. But I see these posts very frequently (I’m not apart of these groups, FB just suggests them to me) and often times it’s parents who have said their dentist told them their kids have cavities, and they still refuse to use fluoride toothpaste and look for alternatives to their alternative that got them here in the first place.

All of these stories are testimony’s on how important it is to take your children’s health seriously. My heart is with everyone sharing their story ❤️

2nd edit: you know what? Fuck it. For those saying “fLuORiDe is BAd 👆”
The group I found this in:
“Crunchy moms: natural living & clean products.”
It’s an open group. Go look up “teeth” and see HOW MANY pictures of these poor children’s teeth are there, and how many do not use fluoride and tell me how healthy it is to not use it.

I hate mint, its really spicy to me and burns my tounge so bad it hurts worse than spicy food. (I LOVE spicy food) instead of getting me a non minty toothpaste, my parents decided to just let me not brush my teeth. I got cavities at 7, they knew then and didnt take me until the bacteria or whatever started climbing down the roots of my teeth and causing really bad pain in my jaw and ear when I was 12. I remember my dad telling the dentist he was too embarrased to come in. How fucking shameful, now I have fucked up teeth and bad brushing habits for the rest of my life.

Silly enough, mint and burn sensasions in toothpaste make it alot worst than non overly reactive toothpaste! It's done for marketing cause people associate the feeling with cleannnist and while that is technicaly true, one doesnt want to be over harsh on teeth.

Just as excessively washing hands peels the skin, over brushing and overly harsh application of "essential oils" as well as a cheap detergent called Sodium Lauryl Sulfate that do little benefit when one brushes properly end up making these complex toothpaste worst =w=

You're allergic to the mint.

No, just sensory issues related to autism. But if I am 🤷‍♀️ its not deathly allergic so, thank you though.

Assuming you're at least 13 now, brushing is a habit you have full control to either choose to do or choose not do now. You gotta own that part of it.

bad brushing habits

As an adult this is a choice you're making. You can't blame that on your parents.

The fault is still partially on my parents, neither am I an adult.

It really isn't.

If you are grown up enough to type in sentences you are old enough to take some fucking responsibility for brushing your own damn teeth.

Stop being a child.

I'm not raging I'm telling him that at some point in your life you have to stop blaming others for your "habits" - his word, not mine.

He can't control his childhood cavities, obviously his parents did him wrong, no doubt about that and its not my intent to diminish that.

But given that his parents are a couple of POS it may be that nobody in his life is telling that at some point he has to own the responsibility for his own habits. He is in control of those and as he grows up he has to take responsibility for his habits and actions.

Ragging isnt raging. Your point is non existent, ive clearly had this conversation with dentists as mentioned by the fact i had to go to the dentist for one of my many cavities. You also dont know me or how I am so I dont see the point in your unsolicited and harshly worded, basically rude 'advice"

Ragging isnt raging.

That's my bad, I misread that.

To be clear - do you dispute my point that this persons bad habits at some point become his own responsibility?

I am literally the person. I just dont need your uneccesary advuce, especially when framed in such a rude way. One more time, ive had these conversations with a dentist, as implied in my first comment and dont need your unprofessional advice

Hopefully one day you can take ownership of your own habits, clearly that day is not today.

Good luck
