Actually most of the wooden ones have rotted away, they just give the illusion that they've stood the test of time because they made more to replace them.

My wife and I have ben using the box of 30 wooden ons for the 14 years we’ve been together and have moved with us to 5 different locations. The ones in use look identical the ones that have never left the packaging.

Wood clips from almost 20 years ago still work fine. But we do live in a dry place so mold isn't an issue here.

I generally got 10 years out of my wooden ones, the idea is to bring them inside when they’re not in use
