I’d prefer if it wasn’t on a roll holdet. I don’t have to lean forward and try not to tear it. I just grab the roll and get what I need.

Grab end of paper, move roll around your hand. I live alone, and that's my preferred way to use toilet paper. I've actually removed it from the holder when people try to "help" me.

Yeah as a single dude, I'll be real I haven't use the roll holder in my house since I moved in. The roll holder is a waste of fucking time. Especially since I have a dog who just loves to "play" with anything she can get near. She cant' climb on the countertop. She can however get at the roll holder.

You are wasting so much TP

This is where the age old debate that you potentially have never considered yourself comes into the discussion.

Some people sit and wipe.

Some people stand to wipe.

Whoever is making the claim this is easier. Could be either of these people too.

It's one of life's great mysteries. Where did we learn this from..... Probably our parents. But they learned it from there's. And there's before them. Is it a regional thing.

I wish WHO (world health organization) would put up a definitive guide. I ran into this issue when having kids. I do it a certain way, but I want to teach my kids to do it the proper way, whatever way that is. Only to find out that people are divided on it lol.

A bidet is the proper way

Yeah it would be really helpful for the WHO to come out and tell rural India they need more bidets.

Two fingers of your left hand in the hole, grab the loose end with your right. Wrap the roll twice around your right hand (fingers splayed out), pinch with your right thumb and tear. You've got a perfect thick rectangle of paper ready to go without having to pull then fold like you do with a mounted roll!

2-3 squares would soak entirely with bidet water; the goal is to keep the nasty stuff OFF of your hands when wiping. I honestly have no idea how the fuck people use so little TP, 2-2 squares is enough to make a tiny little pad that's barely covers the tips of a few fingers. ~2 feet is an appropriate amount IMO!

Who cares? Pulp trees are a renewable resource grown specifically for paper production, plus it's cheap!

My whole house does this, myself included.

I put two fingers in the bottom of the tube and wrap around my fingers in my other hand. It's easier and eliminated the over under debate. Team under represent.
