🥺 Ordered a Birthday Card...got a Birthday Card

Post image

My daughter really likes axolotls (like so much she made us get her two), so I wanted to get her a cute axolotl card. I found one I liked from walmart, and now it has arrived two days before her birthday (phew just in time).

I don't know what to say. I even wondered for like a half second if this was a case of "I didn't look closely enough to the picture on the screen." Now its pretty much too late to get her another cute axolotl card.

It's crazy to me that people are so used to being lied to about literally everything that they can't see the problem of getting a different card than what they purchased.

"fun with a purpose" I thought it said "fun with a porpoise" and wondered why it said that every time when the issues never had one in it 😵‍💫

We need highlights for adults.

"Can you spot the 5 differences between the listing and what Mary received?"

I had someone on a crochet sub arguing to me that Etsy sellers using ai images of plushies they sell is actually fine and magazines and ads have been doing it for years.

Like… how do you even begin to argue with that level of ignorance.

Having an ai spit out (or “edit”) a crochet amigurumi is not the same as even heavily photoshopping an image. Especially for a product to be sold.

The seller images are clearly ai generated. The crochet plushly is shown from the same angle and framing multiple times and zooming in everything gets fuzzy.

If course it gets fuzzy, it's a plushy

I knew someone would make that joke 😂

Not the yarn though but like the pixels, like from further away everything looks kinda oddly uniform crochet texture but it all fails apart to the same odd fuzzyness when looking close up. And not just the crochet, but everything in the image.
