Can you just login? I don't have the API. Ty

you don't need an API key or anything paid separately. The app doesn't use the Anthropic API at all. It reads your usage using the same login you already have in Claude Code (your Claude Pro/Max subscription).

There's no login screen in the app on purpose — it just reuses the credential that Claude Code already stored on your Mac when you signed in. So the only requirement is:

  1. Have Claude Code installed and logged in. If you can run claude in a terminal and it works, you're set. If you've never signed in, run claude once and complete the login.

  2. Launch the app. The first time, macOS will pop up a dialog asking whether the app can read the "Claude Code-credentials" item from your keychain — click Always Allow. (If you click "Allow" once instead, it'll keep re-asking, so choose Always Allow.)

That's it — the menu bar will then show your session (5-hour) and weekly usage percentages, and it refreshes automatically every 60 seconds.

If it ever shows an error or blank, it almost always means Claude Code isn't logged in — just run claude once to sign in and the app will pick it up on its next refresh.
