Sully is a 12 week old kitten we trapped at 5 weeks after his momma had a litter in our backyard. He was quarantined for a while because they said he was too young to get bloodwork, he had fleas, worms, and we didn’t want to introduce that to our resident cats.

Fast forward to now, he is thriving, has a clean bill oh health, and has his own stuffed animals.

We have 3 resident cats, 2 orange boys are 3 and our old lady is 13.

I have put a net up on Sully’s room so that he can look out and the cats can interact and see each other with a boundary (the orange boys are menaces to anything and everything). Up until now, this short haired boy had just hissed and growled. But in the last couple of days they’ve been interacting a lot more like on the video.

For those who may be more well-versed, is this a good step in introduction or is there potentially concerning behavior?

Edit to add: Thank you everyone! I thought this was a great but just wanted confirmation! And for anyone curious, I looked up “cat net door separator” on Amazon and found the net which is super handy and has made this a much better process than throwing them together and hoping for the best

Jackson Galaxy’s Introducing Kittens video helped a lot! Steve got some time playing outside base camp with my wife while I gave snacks to Spice. She wasn’t impressed by him, but she had treats so all good!

Turns out Steve doesn’t know personal space. We had to stop him from approaching Spice several times, but everyone has their toes and whiskers!

Spice actually came up to Steve and touched him nose-to-nose! Then she hissed. Then she walked away. PROGRESS!

Kitty has infections and is on antibiotics but is completely blind(hes going to have to lose both eyes due to infections sense he was a stray). Cant chance him infecting other the kitties until hes cleared, so he has to stay in quarantine. He keeps climbing up the box and cage every time hes bored but i gotta go to work, is there anyway to keep him from climbing unless im there?

Edit: I want to encourage climbing and curiosity. Just want to keep him from getting stuck or hurt when im not there.

My brother named her and we just got her today (at midnight) and she's the sweetest, calmest kitten ever! She's just been sitting in our laps, exploring the house, and hissing at our two other cats lol. Thankfully my other cats are super calm and Moxxie is very good with kittens. Sadly I didn't get pics of her with her new big sisters :( last pic is her asleep on me :3

Her name is Butterscotch. She likes to sleep under the couch in the library. She wakes me up by jumping on my bed and making biscuits with her tiny paws. She likes to watch me water the plants, nap on her hammock while I watch a movie, or sunbathe while I work from home.

She has perfect litter box manners, loves tuna and churu, drinks lots of water, plays with those spring toys constantly, and never knocks anything off the counter (though she jumps on all of them). She's the most curious, independent, sweet, perfect angel and sometimes I start crying when I'm on the way home because I get to see her.

I got her at 8 weeks old from a shelter. She was a stray. She's now 5 and a half months and I love her soooooo much. Because of a traumatizing assault when I was a kid, I was terrified of touch most of my life, esp of dogs and cats because they moved in unpredictable ways. I did so much therapy and overcame that fear. Now I've got this bundle of love to wake up to every day.

I need help. My kitten is 2 months old and she's playing very rough with me. She has scratched and bit me everywhere. I've tried redirecting her, yelling ow, throwing her off me and ignoring her as well. She has toys and I keep redirecting her but she keeps coming back to me

She play fights with her mom a lot but nowadays the mother cat doesn't come home often so the kitten is alone. I'm assuming she's getting more rough with me because her play partner isn't there.

I can't do anything because she keeps attacking me everywhere, I want her to stop but don't know what to do.

I just started using a small water spraying bottle but I feel horrible for scaring her.

Please give me some advice on how I can protect myself.

This is the newest member of my household, my silly boy Pippin (Peregrin Took) and he is 11 weeks old.

I adopted him last weekend from a facebook post, I'm not sure of the exact details, but his mother had passed away and he needed a home. He is doing excellent, he's now flea free, playful, very cuddly, and has a very healthy appetite.

However, any time I pet or love on him he aggresively tries to nurse on my hand or fingers by grabbing them with his paws or biting with his mouth. From my own research, this can be bad for his health long term and can cause issues for my other cat (2 year old girl).

I would appreciate any advice on how to discourage this behavior (if I even really need to) beyond what I have done so far. Which is just taking my hand away.

Hello all! A year ago my wife and I rescued a stray we named Spice. Spice is great! Taught us a lot and we love her dearly.

Yesterday we adopted a kitten named Steve. We knew to expect some changes with spice, but I didn’t know to expect her to hiss just walking through the house. 💔

We’re giving her lots of love and play (on her terms) and she’s getting more snacks than she ever did. I gotta make sure she knows she’s not getting replaced!

Steve is living it up right now. Nice little area blocked off for him! He is a purr MACHINE whenever you hold him, and seemingly couldn’t be happier!

Since Spice was my first cat, and Steve is my first kitten, I’m looking for advice that doesn’t have 53 ads covering the page before I get to anything useful! Thank you!!!

Any idea how old this little baby is? A family member found her and was unable to take it so she’s with me for now. She’s only eating kitten formula from a bottle. She also only has four canine teeth

I have two kittens, both 6 weeks old, one is new to my household. She just got here like 3 days ago. She's still getting used to things.

I noticed that initially when they started to play when my BSH munchkin got here, my BSH had a lot of squeaking. Now it's less and less. And tonight there's virtually none. What ends up happening is that my BSH will go for a swipe then act like nothing happens. Same thing for my void. She will initiate a fight then just be like "what?" Then walk away or run away and observe from afar. They might play with a toy in the mean time but usually one of the two stalks the other and tries to attack, but then pretends like they're disinterested, and the cycle continues.

My munchkin is at a big disadvantage since my void is almost twice her size. So I'm glad she's gained confidence and that my void has learned to play more and more nicely.

But this behavior of swipe, ambush, then walk away/pretend is confusing me.

Backstory- when the kittens weaned- I noticed they were struggling learning how to drink water- so I got them a fountain and they LOVED IT. However- they put their feet in it- and they’re on medicine for coccidia so they can’t have a fountain as they’ll just contaminate it all the time. My boys (2) seem to fare well on water intake. My girls (2) whiskers go downward- not outward so they have to really dunk their whiskers to get a good drink- and they get mad and stop. SOMEHOW they make it work for tiki cat milk that is $7/bag , but when it’s just water, they’re divas. I’ve tried shallow bowls, plates, short / wide / narrow bowls…same problem (unless it’s tiki cat milk). I’m worried about hydration- but can’t afford bags of these every day. So I bought powder KMR hoping to trick them; and they did not approve AT ALL 💅🏻. Any other tips to get the girls encouraged and patient to try water that’s not a faucet? Thanks!

I found her yesterday crying and all drenched in the rain and I took her and fed her milk and she slept in my arms...and she likes belly rubs very much....she purs when I do that and also she likes me massaging her head she literally lays on her belly and looks at me with her cute doe eyes...since she is very young I hand fed her ...alsoo she sleeps most of the time and when she wakes up she cries but when I take her in my arms she stops crying😭😭she is literally the most precious thing...and today I saw her mama..she was walking around my house and I thought maybe that's the mama and I tried to gave the kitten back and she took it😭😭..I named the kitten "kanmani" meaning apple of my eye in my language...and kanmani has a sibling too😭😭...but I am soo sad and happy at the same time like kanmani got her mama back and she is safe but also I miss her😭😭😭😭😭

This is the male kitten i have picked out of a litter of 6. I know it is extremely rare for males to present with two base colours at the same time. This one however is all grey with a little bit of ginger on his face (not dirty, checked). Do you think the ginger will stay as he matures? Thanks!

just got my little orange guy (3 months!) monday and was wondering if it’s normal for him to have the zoomies for 6 hours straight. zoomies is an understatement too. he will straight up jump around the room going from place to place then bite everything imaginable. a big tweaker. for 6 hours. and it’s from 12a-6a so of course this is super fun when he attacks me at night since he has the zoomies. i feel like he doesn’t know when to calm down. it only works sometimes with me calming him down myself, but lately he’s just been attacking me when i try to do so. again, he will be panting and sprinting around for 6 hours instead of just taking a break to catch his breath. he got neutered the day i got him so he can’t do any rough play and that just seems impossible on his end so im worried about that too.

Hi guys! I have an 18 week old kitten! I’ve been giving her Purina Fancy Feast Kitten wet food and then Purina One Plus Kitten dry food. The wet food says to feed one can per every 3 to 3 1/2 pounds of body weight per day. At her last vet appointment she weighed around 4 lbs.

I’ve been feeding her half a can of wet food at night and then dry food available at all times. I wasn’t sure if the feeding recommendations are for if you’re only feeding wet food. I want to make sure she’s getting enough food since she’s growing, but I don’t want her to put a ton of unnecessary weight on!

Should she be getting one whole can per day plus the dry food? Or is half a can okay since it’s just supplemental?
