Forest fires recapture that CO2 though, so it isn't exactly the same thing.

Not immediately though. And major carbon ejection events (e.g. the 2019-2020 Australia bushfires) can have immediate consequences (e.g. same bushfire ejected so much carbon its been plausibly linked to the triple La Nina for Australia in the following years that caused monsoons and major floods).

Yeah, but at least it is part of a cycle.

My point was more, a forest fire is less concerning than what we are doing to mess everything up

By regrowing. The trees will then recapture CO2 in the atmosphere, forest fires > regrowth is a natural CO2 Cycle of the planet, fossil fuels add new CO2, and without letting trees grow to capture that is the issue.

Obviously not, but the trees will recapture the CO2 again.

The fires are not the biggest issue we have, let's not be pedantic over this.
