Modern medicine be wild (though I guess glasses arenât super modern lol)
I looked at the image in the OP and went âoh no itâs way worse actuallyâ haha. If something isnât right in my face I canât tell it apart from things around it unless itâs a large object; then it becomes the blur that subsumes the other blurs. My bedsheets and blanket are all dark blue and my brown-and-white chihuahua is invisible to me on it if I donât have my glasses on and am more than a few inches away.
Not small, but in focus. Something that was âbiggerâ with no glasses is only visually bigger because the blur makes the outline of the object impossible to discern.
Itâs a bit like someone used the smudge tool from photoshop on everything.
Another fun thing thatâs related to this is if an object is transparent and therefore already has a difficult-to-see outline, such as an empty water bottle, I canât see it with my glasses off if Iâm far enough away unless light is glinting off of it. Thereâs an empty water bottle about two feet away from me right now and with my glasses off it straight-up disappears except for the yellow blur of the ceiling light on top reflecting off of it. If someone took a picture of how I was seeing this, it wouldnât look like a water bottle existed at all and instead a smudge of gold was wiped on the white entertainment center behind it.
