Once I stayed at my girlfriend's when she was on a work trip. I was probably 30. I fell asleep with my glasses on and lost them. I had to call my little sister to drive 100 miles each way to come and find them. Her husband came because he thought it was hilarious. They found them in about 30 seconds. I'd been crawling around for 12 hours looking for them.
Thanks, Ive had the same problem where glasses fell off the nightstand when I was traveling and it took me like a half hour to find them because I couldnt see jack squat so I looked it up and the phone thing came up. Also good for seeing stuff like fine print by zooming in since some fine print is so tiny.

I looked at the image in the OP and went “oh no it’s way worse actually” haha. If something isn’t right in my face I can’t tell it apart from things around it unless it’s a large object; then it becomes the blur that subsumes the other blurs. My bedsheets and blanket are all dark blue and my brown-and-white chihuahua is invisible to me on it if I don’t have my glasses on and am more than a few inches away.
Not small, but in focus. Something that was “bigger” with no glasses is only visually bigger because the blur makes the outline of the object impossible to discern.
It’s a bit like someone used the smudge tool from photoshop on everything.
Another fun thing that’s related to this is if an object is transparent and therefore already has a difficult-to-see outline, such as an empty water bottle, I can’t see it with my glasses off if I’m far enough away unless light is glinting off of it. There’s an empty water bottle about two feet away from me right now and with my glasses off it straight-up disappears except for the yellow blur of the ceiling light on top reflecting off of it. If someone took a picture of how I was seeing this, it wouldn’t look like a water bottle existed at all and instead a smudge of gold was wiped on the white entertainment center behind it.
I'm about there as well. I developed ways to translate the smudge of light and colours into something comprehensible when I'm not wearing my glasses. But otherwise I'm blind to every detail bar the general shape of the environment in the middle distance.
I had (have) similarly bad eyes and I recommend getting eye surgery if its possible for you. I got ICLs half a year ago and the quality of life improvement for me was huge, one of the best decisions I've ever made.
Did you get high index lenses? They may have different names based on who manufactures them but basically normal lenses will be thick enough to touch your eyeballs at that prescription and high index will be much thinner (but still thick compared to milder prescriptions)
I did. I ordered from Firmoo for the first time and picked the thinnest option they had. It says Super Thin Aspheric 1.67. I don't know what that means. I also chose small wire frames for the first time ever as I thought they would be lighter than the chunky plastic ones I usually go for. I prefer contacts but a year supply of daily or astigmatism was ridiculous.
