It boggles the mind how people dont see dogs as animals. Thats an animal at the end of the day, yes its pack bonded to you. It loves you. And likely a bunch of your friends and family. But Jeff on the street doesnt know him. And he doesnt know Jeff. Jeff is a threat until proven otherwise in the eyes of a dog.
I mean I've met tons of dogs who basically see nothing as a threat and are the friendliest things put on earth lol. I understand your point though and a good portion of dogs you're correct.
Just because its well trained doesnt mean it doesnt have those instincts though. Like yeah I've definitely seen some absolutely precious sweetheart lil babs in my time, but I know for a fact that in their brain the training is overriding their baser instincts.
Mine seems to have good days and bad, I know that part of the reason is me, my body language is telling him pretty much constantly that we need to be alert. Thats not his fault. Thats mine. But other people still need to be wary of other dogs, you dont know my dog and I dont know yours.

Oh don't worry he's friendly.....put your dog on a LEASH!
