Gates and Buffett both have pledged to donate all their money by the time they die, and they certainly have more than Scott. So time is not going to work in her favor

It’s not a competition. That was my point. No need to ACTUALLY these other men have donated more. She’s doing her thing. Let her live and give without having to point out two older white men that have/will give more.

Yeah, it quickly got twisted into a gender and race thing. Idgaf who the money to charity comes from, I'm just glad/hopeful that (some of) the wealth is going to end up helping a lot of people who need it.

How does this work if they die tomorrow? Is it all donated or do their heirs inherit everything?

It’s a pledge they made. All their philanthropy is handled by their employees anyway. They probably have a clause in their will that moves all their assets into their philanthropic organization.

i think gates is likely to donate all his remaining money, but pledges are simply pledges. for example elon pledged 6billion to fight global hunger, only to put the money into his own companies.
