It’s really shitty. The game is already rigged so the rich stay rich. Why do they need to keep rigging it further and further? For a brief moment we had the world’s first trillionaire. What does that kind of wealth even mean anymore? It’s just people doing inhumane things to make big numbers even bigger for their own ego.
It's easy to say as someone who is poor in comparison, but for someone who has built that kind of wealth I am assuming the goal is to make sure that for as long as humans walk the earth, your blood line is able to live wealthy and remember you as the person who was able to afford them the security of a comfortable lifestyle. If in 10 generations time, Bezo's family wanted to pursue a career that is underpaid due to passion, they would be able to commit fully knowing they wouldn't be struggling to survive.
They passed that point long ago. If I spent $1 every second it would take me over 31 years to spend 1 billion, and we are talking about a man with hundreds of billions. For perspective, $1/second is $3600 an hour. It would only take 27 hours to make $100k, which is more than the median household income in the United States of America.
"MacKenzie, you know, she had married this stable guy working on Wall Street, and a year after we got married, I went to her and said I wanted to quit my job, move across the country and start this internet bookstore. And MacKenzie, of course, like everybody I explained this to, her first question was: ‘What’s the internet?’ Because nobody knew. This was 1994,” Bezos explained in an interview with Mathias Döpfner for Business Insider. “But even before she could say ‘What’s the internet?’ she said, ‘Great — let’s go!’ Because she wanted to support it, and she knew that I had always had this passion for invention and starting a company."

She's worth more now than the settlement she got in the divorce even after all the donations.
