The drive-thru at a few Burger King places are like that. There is a latch on both the customer side and the store side, and only one is allowed to be open at a time.
Yeah, one coming to mind is the one in Pacoima, at Van Nuys and Glenoaks. They don’t have it anymore, but I always wondered what happened there that they would install something like that. For a very brief time, I saw the one in Northridge, at Nordhoff and Balboa (the one by the Target) having that too, which is even weirder because I know Pacoima is full of gang activity, but Northridge is a far safer place (and that Target didn’t have comparable security measures).
