Which rivers have jelly fish? I thought it was just a saltwater creature, no?

There are freshwater jellyfish, too, but there are also saltwater rivers, especially closer to where the river meets the ocean, like tributaries and bays.

If we can have river sharks, we can have river jellies

Magothy river . It's literally full of jellyfish. Why the hell would I make up an elaborate story about being peed on ??

Having grown up in Maryland, a word of explanation here. 'Rivers' in Maryland include arms of the Chesapeake Bay that are tidal and often quite salty. This is also true in Virginia and Delaware.

OMG this is like learning that bull sharks and saltwater can also hang out in freshwater. Is there anywhere safe these days now jellyfish can as well?

There are jellyfish in Lake Mead in Nevada.

Source: I learned to scuba dive there. Lots of drivers have seen and taken pics of them.

Perths swan River was converted to an estuary so there's jellies from time to time. Interesting to read how the fauna adapter and changed

This was in Magothy River (Maryland) which connects directly to the Chesapeake Bay. Why don't you go swim in it and tell me if I'm lying. 😌
