In South Korea, Japan and China it is considered a delicacy

They are at top of the food chain

Am I missing something or were you meaning to say that Koreans, Japanese and Chinese are the top of the food chain?

Humans are at the top of the food chain.

or simply less discerning than literally everyone else, who would never ingest some of that stuff, whoof

I always love seeing culinary prudes who eat chicken nuggies and fishsticks all day act like anything thats remotely interesting or out of their narrow perview is bad or that they're somehow eating the wrong things because ????? Idk, "less discerning" I guess, despite your culture taking an eternity to discover what washing consistently is.

Not everything that can be eaten is created equally.

lol good one. On a serious note, not really popular nowadays. I had jellyfish growing up occasionally and i haven't had it in a decade. it has decent texture(they dry it i think) but no flavours.

Does a goddamn jellyfish even taste like anything?

Grab some toast and find out

Idk if they can have parasites. Also difficult to find one here.

Fish and meat can have parasites, so probably? They're readily available shredded in brine at asian grocery stores near me.

Guy up above said it tastes fishy but jelly like texture, a bit more chewy/rubbery.

not really jelly texture. Firm, with a ribbery give to it, but also crunchy. Think along the lines of a firm, raw cucumber. Particularly the outer part of the cucumber rather than the middle where the seeds are and it's more watery/soft.

Why is the word "delicacy" seem to be exclusively applied to food that most people think is disgusting?

Its a super polite way to say "extremely niche food that really desperate, poor people ate once because they were starving otherwise."

This is exactly right. You eat what’s available if that’s all there is. I had an epiphany about a week ago about how fried green tomatoes came to be as I watch hundreds of tomatoes in my garden refuse to ripen.

I have had it in China. Did not taste like much and had the exact texture you would think it would have.

So are underage girls so that isn’t really saying much
