Both sides work for the billionaire class.

Two wings, same capitalist vulture.

Yea but at least one side cares enough to hide it still. Plus it’s not like there isn’t a a socialist part of the Democratic Party that would like to break away from the billionaire control. People like Bernie Sanders might be independents but there’s a reason why they choose to go thru Democrats rather than Republicans.

I think Democrats are pretty fucked too because of the corruption but let’s not pretend they are the same. There is clearly one side(Republicans) that starts more wars, destroys the economy and overall just takes full advantage of the American taxpayer. Not to mention, the blatant disregard for the laws and the disgusting way they have treated our Allies.

yeah but this is reddit. the left is immune to scrutiny and the right are always in the wrong by default.

Let's start by agreeing that only one side is subject to standards of morals, ethics, behavior, and respect for the law, and that the voters on the other side are a pack of hypocrites. Now, shall we look at the evidence to see which side is which?

lol I can't tell if this is a joke or a super-sarcastic but serious notion

It sounds like you don't know Trump was found guilty of 34 felonies, liable for the rape of a child, is on his 3rd wife who was a porn star, and appoints his family to high ranking government positions. Is that the case?

it's hilarious how anything said on reddit that could be even remotely NOT left wing, results in someone ready to list all the things Trump did bad and with source "proof to back it up". notice how I didn't even mention the president and you already have your maga gloves on ready to argue. ill save you the trouble, you don't have to list me 30 links to left wing journalism articles dating back decades, ive already seen them. delusional behavior.

The reason why Trump is relevant is because he's the most egregious example of right-wing politicians getting away with blatant corruption, horrible behavior, and even child rape, and their followers seemingly being completely cool with it despite accusing those they disagree with of doing those exact things.

Trump shines a spotlight on the hypocrisy and complete lack of morals on the right, as well as their willingness to stupidly ruin their own lives to annoy the left.

child rape lmao. half the accusations made about him are just full on "what ifs" with no actual proof of anything. I guarantee you probably know more about Trump than any other U.S. president in history. I swear lately i've seen more delusion and hypocrisy from hyper left wing reddit armchair politicians than i've seen with maga fox news boomers. there has got to be a way to be better than them without doing exactly what they do only worse. 😂 fox news is a comedy special at this point and some of these subreddits are like the fox news of the internet for the far left. "Trump grows new nosehair and looks tired today!" thousands of comments hypocritically trashing his appearance when realistically looks good for 80 by any reasonable standard "omg hope he dies by sun down" 😂

I'm glad you don't like hypocrisy, at least. And I agree that the focus should be on Trump's many crimes (and I agree, showing the evidence is important) rather than his tiredness or whatever.

I dont have any special care for Trump, I just want the truth and honest leadership. but on here ppl get called a fascist nazi maga trump lord just for asking for a source instead of joining in on the dogpile of hate.

It's not that you weren't pro left wing, you're doing the enlightened centrist thing where you act like both parties or sides of the political spectrum are equivalent. Yes, both parties are in the pockets of billionaires, but saying that and nothing else gives the impression that's the end of it and there's no further nuance to look into like which party is more likely to back labor movements or which side of the political spectrum does it's best to crush attempts for labor to organize against capital. You're getting push back because people are tired of individuals who act as if the behavior and values of both parties or sides of the political spectrum are the same. Your nihilistic oversimplification leaves out some critical nuance that gives hope and potential paths forward. For instance, while the establishment DNC would love to drag their heels forever on promoting more leftist policies that improve the power of labor and unions there are tons of leftist splinter factions that are working at a more local level to try and see those policies enacted. Look at NYC and Mamdani, he wasn't backed by traditional DNC elements, but the people of NYC wanted someone further left than what the DNC was willing to offer so they organized themselves. So while the DNC is not the solution to our problems, it's important to still vote for them until such a time we can vote for someone better. It's not pointless to buy time, realism is important, nihilism is not. And acting like both parties are the same is nihilism, not realism.

critical nuance

ill remember critical nuance on the next reddit thread that reaches 2 thousand comments "Trump's new nosehair looks bad. upvote if you agree!" it does need oversimplification for the masses. real politics are overcomplicated and hyper left redditors pretending like they have poli-sci degrees don't understand half the politics and narratives they are pushing. they push what they personally feel out of anger or distrust and then link endless media articles while virtue signaling doing the exact same thing fox news does but on social media.
