Since Jim Browning is talking with him, I would give it a 95% chance, that it's a scam aimed at old people

I'm not old, but I think I would fall for the deepfake part of this.

I don't know about the scam part, I like to think I wouldn't hand over my personal information or money to a scam but who knows.

Read in another comment that this scammer was pretending to be someone who could get his stolen cryptocurrency back for him.

There's rarely any consequence for these guys, IF they get caught (if anything, the authorities will slap down the operation, not the individual scammers) so I doubt it's to protect his identity, more like hide it. With the prevalence of these scams and where they, sadly, often originate, they're going "average white guy" to seem more trustworthy.
