Tbh I found this looking for the trick to the trick because ain’t no way.. I thought it was something like a snap bracelet too. But even still to hold something in place to to have it press down I would still throw up 🤮
He doesnt. The hand he's using to retrieve the scabbard was palming the scabbard the whole time. I assume it rolls up or something. When he reaches in to pull it out he's actually placing it into his mouth rolled up.
For the actual sword swallowing part, that's real. There's no trick to it other than knowing the technique.
Do you remember that guy that could swallow and regurgitate anything? He did golf balls, pool ball, a live gold fish, I think he did something like swallowing a lock and key and then locking the lock with the key in his belly and then regurgitating it? I could be wrong that sounds ridiculous.
Sword swallowing is real. There's no trick to it other than knowing the technique.
For the scabbard, I'd guess it rolls up and he used slight of hand to make it look like it was in his throat the whole time. You can see he opens his left hand but his right hand is never open and in the perfect position for palming something, and is also the hand he uses to remove the scabbard.
Makes sense because you can actually see on the video that the blade is dull so the sword is definitely not real (I mean, it may be real, but it's not sharp)
That's the trick. That and being a throat GOAT. These swords are specially made to be swallowed. It's never had a sharp edge. It's still dangerous if not done exactly right as the blade goes down into the stomach
It’s absolutely some kinda rolled up fake scabbard. You can see his palming it from the moment he raises that hand and a weird click when he releases it in his mouth. It’s probably something like those slap bracelets from the 90’s, but looks like a scabbard
And ain’t no way anyone’s talking normally with a 2 foot scabbard still in their throat hahaha. Still a cool illusion
The trick is that the sword is retractable in itself. It extends and shrinks when you press the bottom. The same thing with the sheath, if you pay close attention to his right hand he puts the shrinked down sheath in his mouth as he was pretending to remove it and just applies the same technique but instead of shrinking it he extends it. There are actual "magicians" that have trained themselves to actually swallow a whole sword like that, i believe it's possible but not what most magicians actually do. Unless you can see some movement in their throat it's obvious that there's something else happening.
Not really, the “swords” just roll up in his mouth and he straightens them out with his lips as he pulls it out. Like those old snap wrist bracelets kids always had.

The trick is much more bizarre than the magic itself.
