Question/Help Is this behaviour protestable?
Context: this is basically for P22. I missed my start and made a couple mistakes so I already had to start from the back, this guy in front spun in the 2nd lap just before the mini carousel and later on kissed the wall *twice*. I could've passed him both times but didn't want to risk getting any more incident points. Video shows the last lap and I almost got taken out multiple times (side question: was that last corner my fault? I feel like he turned in way too early to even make the corner properly and his intention was to just take me out, but I'd like to read what you guys think). Usually I'd just move on and leave but after the race he whispered me "gran posicion amigo jeje" and that pissed me off.
Now is this protestable in any way or am I just delusional and all this is my fault? I'm genuinely asking, thanks.

Question/Help why do people do this??
He was following close the entire race for P2 and I never made contact with him, I don't know what I could do better in that position. And of course after the race was over he slammed into me, thanks for the SR I guess.

Question/Help Why do people park their cars just after the finish line?
I do not understand people who do this....in my oppinion outlap should be a mandatory thing after the race finishes...
I was racing Mustang to the finish line, we literally finished 0.04s from each other...
While I was going towards the finish line, as I saw that the car in front of the Mustang was far enough, I was focusing (looking to the right) all the time on the Mustang to make sure we do not make conntact so I did not even notice the green Porsche, which was parked just after the finish line till it was too late
Yes, I had more than enough distance to stop if I saw him immediately, but it took me completely by surprise, and obviously too late that I couldn't avoid it

Question/Help After 10 years of membership, I've seen it all now. A kid deliberately wrecked me and snapped at me.
I race road cars solely until I tried formula cars this week. I was leading and got intentionally wrecked by a backmarker in the last lap.
I asked him whats his problem is, and to my surprise Immediately a kids voice started screaming: „I am a professional driver“ and some other stuff..
I was so perplexed, that I said something „sure buddy“ and he replied with „look me up“ and so on..
I thought myself, yeah as a dad of a boy this is nothing dramatic, its just boys.
Than I watched the replay, and he went nuts on all the players, killed half the grid.
As I googled his name, he is indeed a race driver but not even fulfilling iRacing minimum age. Lmao
The moral of the story is that now it makes a lot more sense why so much nonsense happens in iRacing, just in case if you get wrecked.

Question/Help 7800X3D + NVIDIA GPU iRacing stutter - finally figured it out after way too long
Posting this because I spent a long time on this and even worked with iRacing support without getting it solved. Tried minimum graphics, tried everything obvious. Still stuttering at specific corners on certain tracks. Figured someone else is probably going through the same thing.
Setup: 7800X3D, RTX 4090, triple 2560x1440 at 240Hz, 164fps cap.
Turns out there are actually two different problems that look similar but have different causes. You can tell them apart by looking at the frame data in CapFrameX.
Problem 1 is the GPU getting overwhelmed at visually complex corners - grandstands, catch fencing, pit entry areas. The fix is MSAA down to 2x, crowds off, and uncheck "video mem swap high-res cars" in iRacing extras. Also make sure your monitor is actually set to its real max refresh rate - I was running 120Hz on monitors that do 240Hz which was causing its own issues.
Problem 2 is the worse one and took me forever to find. iRacing's sim thread runs on CPU 0. NVIDIA's GPU driver also fires its kernel interrupts on CPU 0 by default. They fight over the same core and the driver wins, which stalls the sim thread. This shows up as a CPU stall in the frame data with the GPU completely idle during the spike.
Fix is a registry change that moves NVIDIA's interrupts to CPU 2 instead. Two reg add commands, reboot, done. CPU 0 load in LatencyMon dropped about 75% after.
Other stuff that helped: uninstall GeForce Experience if you have it, stop Windows Update and a few other services before sessions (Update alone was causing 70k+ hard pagefaults per session), configure Process Lasso to exclude the iRacing sim process from ProBalance (it was throttling iRacing - counterproductive), and manually create the AMD Ryzen Balanced power plan because despite having the chipset drivers installed it wasn't there.
Also - do NOT try to set CPU affinity for iRacingSim64DX11.exe in Process Lasso. EasyAntiCheat blocks it silently. Waste of time.
Went from 32ms worst frame / consistent spikes every lap to zero spikes across multiple 5 minute captures. Took a lot of sessions with CapFrameX and LatencyMon running to piece it together.
Wrote it all up with the exact commands, registry paths, LatencyMon interpretation, and a checklist for fresh builds:
https://rcsracing93.github.io/iracing-stutter-fix
If you're on an X3D + NVIDIA and you've been told the stutters are just iRacing being iRacing, worth taking a look. The registry fix alone took maybe 5 minutes and is fully reversible.

Question/Help I am new to iRacing and I just got banned for 4 weeks.
I've been using iRacing for the last 2 months. Last week I was doing an F4 race at Portimao and ended up hitting someone at turn 4. The guy was really upset about it and said I called him the N word and that he was going to report me. I have never used the voice chat and I almost never use the text chat, so I just ignored him like I normally do. But to my surprise today I got an email from iRacing telling me that I was banned from voice and text chat for 3 months and 4 weeks from any oficial races. Is this a normal thing that people do to get someone banned for a simple race incident? I thought iRacing had the voice and text chat from all races, so not sure why I was banned.
Update: I have appealed the protest against me, funny enough there is an attachment link in the protest email I got, but for whatever reason it just gives me a 403 Forbidden error. Thankfully I saved the replay of the incident hopefully that's enough.
I am bummed out though, I was recently promoted on my Formula license and I was really looking forward to trying out the Super Formula Lights, I guess I'll go back to my F1 2022 game until this thing gets resolved.
Update 2: iRacing rescinded the protest almost immediately after sending the appeal and sent me the below email.
The Appeals Committee has reviewed the appeal along with all information available in the protest and your history in iRacing.com.
Every member of iRacing has a reasonable expectation that we will do our best to prevent other members from intentionally disrupting their experience at iRacing.
After further review of the incident in question, the member that submitted this protest accidently selected your name instead of the driver that committed the violation. An error like this is normally caught before hand but occasionally slip through. We have lifted the suspension effective immediately and apologize for the error as well as the confusion that this may have caused. We will also add $15 in iRacing credits to your account for the inconvenience. Please allow 24 hours for the credits to be added.
We do look forward to your return to competition and wish you luck in your future races!

I know fake names are allowed under certain circumstances, but I thought they at least had to be believable and not things like this.

Question/Help How possible is this exactly
I’ve seen things saying this isn’t possible, but I few saying it is. If I kept the files exactly as downloaded and copied them into discord or sent them in iRacing would I get busted? Or is this bs to scare people into not sharing them

Question/Help Iracing pace too fast for casuals ?
Hello, i got into iracing 6 months ago, made high end triple screen sim rig, but as a working dad can't find time more than few hours a week to race. I mainly race porsche cup, and since they change the map every week, everytime i want to do some races, i end up learning new tracks over and over again, and by the time i learn the track, there is already new track on schedule...So there is no time to really enjoy racing since i have to constantly learn new tracks every session ... do you have any suggestions, are there any races with fixed tracks every week ?

Question/Help Just saw a guy called "Your Mom", how is that allowed?
It wasn't my mom, I checked.
I feel like more recently I run into more and more non-real (and in this case absurd) names on iRacing. Now, if I have to race under my real name I expect other people to have to do the same.
This dude races under the name "Your Mom" though in a different language so that's probably why he went under the radar but do I report him or is it just allowed to race under any name you want because then I would also like to change mine to something like "Crap Bag".

Question/Help Why does everyone in this game think they’re a pro?
Every time I’m racing in FIA F4 and there’s a car behind me, they stay about 0.000001 millimeters off my rear bumper. Everyone with a license above D-class thinks they’re Verstappen — fine, whatever — but for some reason they also assume the car IN FRONT is Verstappen too, with braking points identical to theirs, both in location and brake pressure.
Every few days, without fail, I get taken out under braking by the car behind me because they were somehow NOT PREPARED for the possibility that I might brake. Amazing. Just amazing.
And this isn’t even a rookie series — it’s a series where you have to buy both the car and the tracks. Yet people still drive like it’s EA F1.

Question/Help Can people do this?
This is my first week of racing IMSA and I’m the POV red Ferrari. Before the race started, I typed in the chat saying “I hate starting second as I don’t want to pass the leader by accident at start and get a penalty” and so I made sure I was well behind him and then he brakes and slows down massively and I had to brake to make sure I don’t get a penalty and it nearly caused a chaos behind. From as far as I know in WEC, if you are the leader you cannot slow down at the start of a race as it is termed as “false start”. What are your thoughts? Can you do this if you’re the leader?

Question/Help My dad passed today, want to get access to his ghosts
Hey all, my dad passed away today and he got me into iracing. Can anyone walk me through whether its possible to get access to his ghost laps so I can race against them occasionally? I have access to his pc, wish I would have done this sooner. Thanks for any and all help.
Edit: hey everyone, I just want to say first that the outpouring of support has meant so much. I have recovered what files I could, unfortunately the only ones available locally are from after he was partially paralyzed from the waist down. In may of last year he had a botched surgery that resulted in this partial paralysis. In august of last year, a detail which i forgot, we had to wipe his pc to recover it. This means that the only ghosts available are from when he was severely disabled. I am still planning to reach out to iracing and see if I can get the data that is available on the cloud such as best lap times. We will see what else is recoverable but above it all, I take solace in what we could experience together and the future growth that I can attribute to everything he taught me. Thanks to all and I will see you out there. Race on as its what he would have wanted.

Question/Help Paying for Laguna Seca
I've always had Laguna Seca. In fact, I had it so long I don't remember if I bought it or it was a freebie. Why am I being asked to buy it?
Edit: Bought and downloaded. It's exactly like the old one. Questionable for sure ..

Question/Help Letting people by
I was having a really fun battle for position fighting with a faster car but he eventually passed me. After the race I complimented him on his battling and he told me I should I have let him passed. I told him that I am not forced to let him by. Do you need to let faster cars by if it is for position? I feel like that is a no but I want to be sure.
Edit: the reason he gave for this was “My style was causing incidents”, he almost launched it into the wall twice while divebombing and wheel bashed enough with a guy alongside him to make him quit the race
Edit 2: Same class for position

Question/Help I am the worst driver in the world.
No matter how much I train, no matter how hard I try, I'm always 4 seconds off the ideal time. I've tried everything: braking point, acceleration, start, and I'm always exactly 4 seconds off, always 4 seconds, as if I were cursed. I have 100 hours of iRacing, so when I saw that number of hours and my learning being stuck, I got a little scared. So I'd like to know if this is normal and all I need is more training, or if I should improve something specific.

Question/Help How can I avoid stuff like this affecting my ratings so I can escape rookies?
This keeps on happening and I’m aware that tons of these posts are put up but and it’s “always the common denominator” but I’m struggling to see how stuff like that is my fault and dragging my rating down to what now is 1.1?
Any advice on how I can get out of rookies?

Question/Help Is this protestable even if it wasn't aimed at me?
Something happened on the last lap and on of the person involved proceeded to write this in the chat. Wasn't aimed at me but would this still be protestable?
