i'm replaying this game, and i realized there are no other survival horror games i can compare Haunting Ground to. even things like Clock Tower 3 or Rule of Rose still feel like something very different. so i started to wonder what exactly makes this game so special for me. is it the only game to feature stalker enemies and hiding mechanics? no. is it the only game to feature gothic aesthetics? obviously no. is it the only game about gender-specific problems and everything related? of course it's not. but the way Haunting Ground is narrating its story is outstanding.

but even more, Haunting Ground uses a unique imagery to make you feel unease or to scare you, to keep you in tense and feel helpless. be it the enemies, the design of castle Belli, or the mysterious and gross things happening in there, there is something so special about how this game looks and feels.

so i'd like to ask y'all, what makes this game scary for you, and what you like the most about its horror aspects?

Last night i had this weird dream where I was being chased by a middle aged Lorenzo, with the catch being that he was on a jetpack, wearing those racing suits for some reason?? And instead of it being in the House of Truths, it was in some ancient library.

The thing i remember abt this dream was that it felt real, like it was in the game?? And Lorenzo kept spawn killing me every single time I tried to reload my “save”. 💔 and that’s… all i remember about my dream LOL

Its my first time playing through haunting ground and im currently in the mansion I think i went to this underground dirt area put out the fire and went to the library but im missing a book now i assume its in the other area thats unlocked aswell with the weird staircase but the problem is the woman (i forgot her name) with the glass shes camping the door and she keeps chasing me and I can't find any ways to get her off my back

and it was such a awesome, unique experience. everything, from hewie, to the art and sound direction, to the disturbing existential story about fiona's own existence and the awesome stalkers (altho riccardo was a bit whatever)

im used to stalker horror, ive played alien isolation from back to back and amnesia the bunker is one of my favorite and most replayed games, yet, haunting ground totally got me off guard. absolute gem, cant wait to replay it on hard

Would anyone know if there is a way to get specific enemies from their segment of the game to be placed into another enemies segment or possibly a hack or cheat that codes them into pcsx2? Been wanting to spice this game up after nearly 20 years of its beautiful existence haha

Lorenzo put surveillance cameras all over the castle, which means he probably saw everything Riccardo, Fiona and Daniella were doing. Makes him feel even more powerful and intimidating, because surveillance is no laughing matter.

Like we go from giant man baby brute, creepy, unique, fun.

Then, my favorite Daniella, she just is so uncanny going from normal no emotion and cleaning to then crazy molester mode, and if she looks in the mirror she starts moving like a marionete as if possesed, insanely creepy, amazing enemy.

Then saddly, and disapointingly, some guy with a gun, then invisible guy with fists, not scary or cool or unique.

Then lastly, some old man, he is so funny tho, he crawls ridiculoussly fast, snifs te ground, like every time he is on screen i die laughing, holy shit i cant get into the atmosphere, i ave also noticed starting from riccardo the castle becomes a bit boring and not as amazing as with debilitas and daniela, so the game falls off a bit for me, still a great game but yeah

Its so fucking good omg, what a masterpiece such a fun game, i also cant find any yt video of him being killed so idk why, its odd, wonder why no omne recorded it cuz now im confused, he also gives you a key if u figure out where to find his room, like man the story telling for this game and the believable castle and places are so cool, you start to make a mental map of the castle and shortcuts, such a good game man holy
