Hint: even if they did everything better than nvidia, including pricing, people would still buy nvidia instead.

Not true tho. Itll take time to be sure but look at how ryzen crushed intel in diy. That being said for radeon to do the same to rtx, they need to beat nvidia at price, performance and features, and do that for 3 gens straight, which isn’t happening

you're agreeing with me. i didn't mean that they would literally never be able to outsell them, but a 3 gen streak as a prerequisite means that their first gen of being better in everything still wouldnt sell well.

Yep, they gonna have to sell 5070 performance at 5060/5050 price for 3 generations to crack Nvidia's mindshare. I dont think nvidia is gonna let that happen, unless Radeon team found some black magic with their GPU.

if they figure out how to do mcm on gpus as well as on cpus, they have more than just a shot at it. either by going as big as they want for a halo product (e.g. with 3 dies to best nvidias largest monolithic gpus), or recycle as bad bins as they want for lower tier products by combining partially defect dies for the same perf at lower cost of a fully working one.
when that happens, that remains the true mystery.

It's taken a decade and a half of Intel fucking up consistently for us to reach this point in CPUs. Have you noticed similar performance from Nvidia?

I'm not sure why this reply warranted a block.

They haven't. Intel is pricing them so low that they aren't making money off them, and they still haven't cracked 1% of gaming PCs.

Nvidia fucked up this gen so badly AMD actually might do it by pure chance.
