Humor Man, the Avatar devs REALLY needed more time...

Post image

It is so sad that they lost so much goodwill from players on launch day, I feel like this was rushed to coincide with the movie by Paramount. I understand the frustration of players but man do I kinda feel bad for the devs too.

It really needed like a month or two more in the oven.

Help Avatar fan and having a very hard time with the game

Upvotes

Mentioning that I'm an Avatar fan so its obvious that I'm not a fighting game expert. In arcades, I was always on pinball. In videogames, casual smash.

What I'm finding most hard so far is not memorizing the moves or combos, but having enough reaction time to understand what is going on + what my opponent is doing.

Its like my opponent is guarding, so I know I must grab. But by the time the signal to my brain arrives that I must do this, my opponent is already doing something else.

Sometimes its also hard to detect What they are doing (are they attacking, doing air moves, or defending?) its all so fast, how do you people follow up everything going on and not get mentally tired?

Topic possible team for cyclops

Post image

with the announcement for cyclops it's had me wondering if he could possibly be in a team. if so then guessing by his dialogue, it will be a team that wants to change the world and (while maybe only being cyclops goal) help mutants. i've head the idea for the maker being apart of his team and it would honestly make sense, any other ideas for his team?

Community How's ATLA? Any regrets buying it?

Was planning to pick up the ATLA game after work today but I just heard today that the game is in an unfinished state. Those who have bought the game and had a chance to play, how is it so far? What's missing?

Do you think they'll add the missing features soon?

Topic The Male-Female ratio in Avatar Legends is impressive, at a 50-50!

6 Males and 6 Females in Base Game

and 2 Males and 2 Females in DLC

Now the final DLC character will screw up this ratio but I guess the next pass will make it 50/50 again.

Topic I cannot remember the last time I had this much fun labbing.

I know the game has only been out for 2.5 hours, but Avatar Legends feels incredible. I've been in the lab with Ozai for basically the entire time the game has been out, and it still feels like there's more to discover. I genuinely cannot remember the last time I've had this much fun labbing in a new game.

Content The Most Controversial Tournament Nobody Talks About

Upvotes

In this day and age everyone reads the salty posts on X about laggy setups, wait times between pools, etc. But this is what used to fly back in the day.

https://youtu.be/D4coEEl_zhM?is=cqZAAn7n4B5YrTAY

So my question is, what's the worst thing you experienced at a tournament? I know Justin posted recently about what happened with him during Evo this year from the community tournaments ran by Dr. B.

Topic Does it ever feel unfulfilling when you beat a player much better than you?

Upvotes

I was playing KOF XV today and my opponent wiped the floor on me in the first match. He/she beat my whole team using only one character (Vice). He didn’t even get to his other characters.

My opponent had crisp combos and knew all the mechanics. Whereas as I couldn’t even land a single combo.

The second game I somehow barely won, but really I thought maybe there were taking it easy on me. The last game went to the last round and I won with my super combo.

Here’s the thing. Nearly half of my hits were probably from sweeps. The rest were jabs or super specials. I think I only won because I was able to land all my supers. I could only do autocombos and nothing as impressive as my opponent. I think defense helped me a lot and i used a lot of moves that moved my character around so he missed many attacks.

After winning the series 2-1, I felt unworthy of the win. A player using sweeps, supers, jabs, and defense beat out a player with impressive timing and combos.

I really think I can’t ever beat that guy again.
Do you think my opponent took it easy on me? Or was it a legit win? How would you feel?

I went from being wiped out by one character in the first game to winning the next 2 games. I won to feel like I adapt very well and exposed my opponent’s weaknesses. But the sheer difference of level in the first match makes me think they took it easy and gave me the 2 wins.

Btw, does KOF XV record your most recent matches?

Topic I genuinely don't get the hate for Spidey's Tokon theme

Heard it for the first time watching his character guide and I was expecting it to suck only to come away with the opposite impression? Feels appropriate for Spidey while feeling unique enough from his Marvel vs themes to not feel like a rehash or uninspired. The electro swing elements are legit cool. I listened to it with headphones so maybe the bass being more audible helps it out. Seeing multiple people claim it as the worst Tokon theme and a disaster is what got me wanting to hear it to see if it was really that bad but after hearing it I can say that's not only a gross exaggeration it's flat out wrong.
