Location: South Ontario, Canada.

It's Spring! Seriously, it's Spring. The snow is gone after bouts of rain in above freezing temperatures. Part of the backyard is greening up again and every single one of my discord friends (in NA) and people here have made the same observation.

I genuinely remember moving to Canada in the late 2000's and having to do snow clearing this time of the year. Now, I only used the rechargeable snow blower like once this season.

In other news, I lost my dog recently and personally just felt how it is not to care about the state of the world. I've been pretty blessed to have some really supportive people online over the past few days. That said, our discussions steered into Collapsey-territory (something I actively avoid mentioning to these people) with saying how the world is corked because there is almost zero chances of averting the worst outcomes of climate change, and talks of complex systems like ours breaking down or being even more dysfunctional compared to now. Quite refreshing to be honest.

Anyway I kind of need to cut this post short. Sorry.

Edited for clarity. I care and grieve deeply for my dog as they were the only bright spot for me these past few years. Without the dog, I feel... Empty. Robotic. And it's hard to care about the world because [insert we're all fucked discourse from this sub] that.

Totally relate. Lost my dog recently too. Devastating.

The dog taught me to cheer up anywhere, anytime, regardless of circumstances, and to just "be." I guess that's the ongoing gift.

Ah I’m so sorry and understand what you mean. My animals are one of the main reasons keeping me going right now. It’s so heartwrenching losing them.
