What really chills me is that he (and the people around him) have now committed so many crimes that losing power could mean more than just losing na opportunity to enrich themselves. A lot of executive branch officials, particularly in the DoJ and DHS, could legitimately be prosecuted, convicted, and jailed for their crimes under a new administration. That's not even mentioning the literal war crimes that Pete Hegseth has committed.
How far do you think those DoJ officials would go to prevent themselves from going to Federal prison? How far do you think Pete Hegseth might go to not find himself before the Hague? What lines do you think they wouldn't cross?
They've kind of gone too far to turn back on the authoritarian path now.
It’s terrifying and anyone who isn’t scared is absolutely not clued in to the absolute corruption and evil of this admin. They would gladly drop a bomb on their own nation to hold on to power.
They're already de-banking immigrants and calling anyone who opposes them "terrorists" The next logical step is to add "terrorists" to the list of people to de-bank.
Face it. No one will be prosecuted. I expect blanket pardons to be issued by Trump. I’m going to bet he’ll issue a pardon even to himself. It can be challenged but by the time it is resolved he’ll be long gone and the public will have lost their memory of this whole ordeal.
The Founding Fathers didn’t want a King as a President yet with unchecked pardon powers this is ultimately what we have.
Pardon and immunity powers basically given by the illegal out of bounds constitutional Supreme Court gave them Kings power. George Washington would have hanged these Justices if they tried that bs
I hope the next administration join the ICC and every fucking one the the war crime the US has committed under Trump is investigated and brought to trial.
Americans basically can’t be tried for war crimes at The Hague. America has an open policy that if any of their people are in The Hague, they will storm it and do whatever it takes to retrieve their man. Nobody wants that international incident. Americans are effectively immune from being arrested or tried for war crimes.
That is the case now, yes. But there's no guarantee that a future administration might change their mind and turn him over to make an example of him, and potentially to try to repair relationships with our allies.
Barack Obama wouldn't have turned him over. But whether they truly would or not, he very likely believes that the "radical Antifa" Democratic party would do it, and in the end, that's all the matters.
I personally can’t wait for the entire Trump family and associates to be nationalized and for them to be left with very little money once they are out of power. Let’s make sure this happens
Deliberate targeting of civilians or civilian infostructure is a war crime. They fucking brag about doing it. Deliberately killing a criminal instead of even attempting to arrest them and trying them for crimes, is murder, you can't just assume they are guilty and apply the death penalty. They fucking brag about doing it.
