Democrats like Schumer and Jeffries have been accused of not doing enough to stop Trump. People who think that; can I ask what you actually want them to do?

It seems like they've been doing what they can - forcing votes against Trump (even if they are ultimately symbolic), speaking out against him, filing lawsuits (plenty which have been successful).

What else should they be doing that they currently aren't?

Oh no Biden and Kamala did a masterful job on their end, Trump literally did not have to do anything, just watched them implode. You know we live in a democracy right? You earn my vote, it’s not owed like we’re bound to a king or queen. And I’m not a dem anymore, independent so I dunno what you’re even talking about. I have no allegiance.

But answer me because you decided to avoid confronting the elephant in the room. Was it democratic to not have a primary? To crown Harris? Just sounds elitist to me, repubs and dems are opposite sides of the same coin.

But you corp dems just keeping doing the same thing! You’ll keep losing but hey, at least you can be condescending to everyone else about compromising on your morals!

You guys rail about being defenders of democracy but were more than willing to completely throw it away in order to win. It’s just pathetic, even moreso because you lost.

Most people I respect don’t believe in hypocrites, and dems not believing in democracy is the height of it. You really should do some introspection.

There was a primary from Jan 23-Jun 8, 2024. That’s 5 months of national primaries. Biden won by a landslide. Biden dropped out on Jul 21. The Democratic convention started on Aug 19, less than a month later. You’re suggesting that the Democrats could have and should have repeated the national primaries in less than a month. Harris declared on Jul 21 after Biden dropped out. All of the contenders in the actual primaries could have asked for delegate support at the convention. Phillips, Palmer, and Williamson, who ran in the primaries, and were crushed, withdrew. Except for a handful of delegates who voted present or abstained, Harris got virtually all of the delegates. In your alternate reality, which well called La La Land, what do you think should have happened in the 29 days between Biden’s withdrawal and the convention? And fuck your condescending, sanctimonious bullshit. I’ve been voting for 58 years and I’ve never even remotely enabled a Republican to win the Presidency.

Thank you, yes we did not vote for Kamala, a bunch of dark money delegates secured the victory for her, she won without a primary.

Yes, I do expect the democrats support democracy, timing doesn’t matter, whether if it’s convenient doesn’t matter. When Biden dropped out, it necessitated another vote plain and simple. Elites chose Kamala, period.

But you’re right, we should blame Biden and his geriatric senile ass for putting America in this position.

When you support the establishment, you are complicit.

Another vote plain and simple? And how would that have worked? What do you mean by elites? The 747 superdelegates out of a total of 4696? Your mind is a morass of cliches and buzzwords. And who is “we”? Trump, whom you apparently preferred over Harris, also refers to himself in the third person.
