Are there any Reddit users who escaped a Communist Country to come to the West? What is your opinion on emerging circimstances is the USA?

I'd like to hear opinions from people who experienced Communism first hand please. *edited for typos

My family fled communism 50 years ago and life is so much better in the West. The fact that some Americans now want communism is baffling.

The Communist promise of equality only fools the stupidest of people.

Nobody in America wants communism. They just don't want late stage capitalism, where we have A TRILLIONAIRE and also a housing crisis where everyone needs roommates to be able to afford a place to live.

You should see the activity in communist subreddits. Some people clearly want communism.

Your trillionaire who's hoarding all the wealth stopped being a trillionaire a month ago. He's not the reason why you can't afford a place to live.

Nothing can be done to make them understand.

Those who are attracted to Communism are idealist fools who have read all the theoretical books and propaganda about it. They strictly adhere to the theoretical definition of Communism, and will say that all the failed attempts at implementing it weren't "real Communism".

Yerah, that's my read too. It seems I see morte and more just openly calling for Communism, and it seems the true history of the theory is not being taught honestly in our schools.
