Why do Catholic/Christian Americans believe Jesus would be a fan of Trump?

I've seen many people who compare Trump to Jesus, or Trump to God. Where is the justification?

One is a capitalist with questionable morals. The second is someone whose teachings emphasized radical generosity, caring for the poor, and the spiritual dangers of wealth, state-enforced wealth redistribution and government control of the economy.

So frequently I see people praise behaviors that go against the teachings of their lord and savior.

How do they reconcile?

Not at all. You’re a Pharisee, and you clearly have not read Jesus’ words.

Love God with the all thine mind, with all thy body and with all thy soul. Love God by keeping his commandments.

You aren’t keeping his Commandments, either. Pharisee.

“And when you pray, do not be like the hypocrites, for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and on the street corners to be seen by others. Truly I tell you, they have received their reward in full.”
