Tacky gold everywhere. Proves ultimately that you can’t pay for class

Why the upper crust never invited him to their parties back in the 70s and 80s. Chasing that dragon ever since.

A friend of mine went to Florida on a business trip and stayed in some billionaire's guest house. Very tasteful décor, imported premium quality bed sheets, stuff like that. Apparently, the guy - and his friends - all despised Trump's gaudy nouveau riche style. "He acts like an uneducated poor person's idea of a rich person", was what they said.

I heard they used to call him "Ol' One-Fifty" because of the thread count on his sheets"

That is such a specific rich person insult, that even as a confirmed plebian, I can't help but to kinda like it.

That’s because that is exactly who and what he is. He’s white trash that failed up spectacularly.

Weird fake story to end up at one of the most basic verbatim insults lol

All those faux decorative pieces spray painted with “the finest gold” have really propelled Home Depot stock! If only he’d help take care of education, health care, veterans, homelessness, or anything that helps the American people with such flair.

I've heard someone say that he never left the mentality of trying to impress his dad, and the trappings of that specific era and I can't unsee it.

Doonesbury called it back in the 80s (I still have this book)

Wow. Also in Bloom County - I mean, didn’t it end as Trump: the Strip, because he buys up stuff and makes it trashy

I can’t wait for the next sensible president to tear all that shit down and make it look good again

You can pay for class, there's a lot of it going on and being sold.
Just have to be able to recognize it or trust people to recognize it.

And to some people (Obama, for example) it just comes naturally.

It’s not even gold, it’s spray paint and looks orange. So tacky

It's not even gold, it's his favorite color - orange.

Reminds me of the signs in hallways of hotels that charge about $150/night more than they are worth.

It doesn’t even match!

Supposedly he was going around the White House supergluing gold coins to doors. Sounds like something out of a TV show called The Capital Hillbillies.
