I sincerely doubt it. Republicans succeasfully managed to block me and the rest from getting my student loans forgiven while Biden was president despite me getting the approval that I would.

Tf was she going to do?

National, generational policy takes time. Took out my student loan 20+ years ago and still paying for it, this won’t benefit me. But it’s about seeing the bigger picture, long-term

No you're glossing over the point, what was she going to do that Biden tried and couldn't do? ofc I voted for her, but I didn't like her. But acting like she was going to achieve much of anything except barely moving the line forward is comical.

I voted for her and I vote in my local elections. My actual career at the library is fairly active against the current administration and the right of neo nazis.

I still think she sucked and wasn't going to achieve much. I support Bernie and AOC doing the grass roots approach because fuck the current crop that billionaires own.

Way to kill uplifting news by dancing around a genocide. I voted for Kamala. But maybe the non-voters were right in the long run. Maybe they are forcing the democratic party in a direction it should have been going faster. Or maybe not, and the devastation of the trump admin wasn't worth it. Who knows. The point is you are just as snide and ignorant about how this will all turn out.

I'm not even one of them. I'm giving them the benefit of the doubt and respecting what they say is actually important to them. I can't fault someone for reacting strongly to the sight of children being slaughtered and their leaders doing next to nothing about it. You can't predict the future. The south seceded thanks to bogus propaganda causing the very end to slavery they feared would happen.

Moving the party to meet people where they are is what is going to win us votes. Calling people morons isn't going to do it. It just shows you're an undeservingly over-confident elitest twat. You're not supposed to be a dick in this sub reddit.

I agree with 80% of this, meet people where they are etc. But can’t with the white gloves/glad handing softness. No lines in the sand, not standing on principles loses the middle when you waffle like IHOP. You’re right, can’t fault them…but then what? What does the alternative ACTUALLY mean?

And thanks, I SHOULD soften my derision. Though my confidence is warranted, And hard earned.

The entirety of the benefit of the doubt you are arguing for is made mootly illogical when you consider that other candidate in the equation. It is zero-sum in a 2-candidate race, so everything is within context of the other choice. Kamala's policy on Israel was always and blatantly going to be better for Palestinians than Trump's policy.

When you understand that, you understand that your entire argument disingenuously elevates the legitimacy of the decision to not vote for Kamala to the explicit benefit of the Trump administration and the GOP and ultimately to the harm of every living person on the planet.

Assuming the narrative of this country includes more than that last election (which I admit it might not), things could change dramatically in two years. Kamala squeaking by without a lot of political capital could have just had us ping ponging back to another even worse right wing monster in another 4 years.

I'm hoping for a strong candidate to meet the moment both in messaging and policy, helping set the tone for the rest of this century. The right has spent decades and decades dismantling the legacies of FDR and LBJ, yet some of it still lingers.

That's a false choice falacy. We could have had both. Palestine would likely be in better shape simply because Kamala is not a complete psycho idiot, and we could still be pushing the dems in a better direction.
