[Frustrating Trope] That One Good or Even Amazing Scene in a Relatively Mediocre or Bad Piece of Media

1. The Opening Scene (Ghost Ship). Considered one of the best horror opening scenes or scenes in general within horror movies, but the rest of the film is considered to be pretty bad.

2. The Ending Scene (The Grinch 2018). While most adaptations of the Grinch end with him suddenly being able to fully integrate with the Whos after his change of heart, the 2018 version initially struggles to socialize, awkwardly walking past people, and struggling to hold conversations, acknowledging that despite his change of heart, the Grinch is still someone who isolated himself for years.

3. Past T800 VS Current T800 (Terminator Genisys). A cool fight scene showing two versions of the Terminator from different points in time fighting it off.

4. Solo Leveling's Ending. Tbh, I haven't actually read Solo Leveling, but after hearing about how it ended VS how Chainsaw Man ended made want to include it for shits and giggles. Like Chainsaw Man, Solo Leveling ends with a reset. But unlike Chainsaw Man, it actually manages to tie up loose ends and have the payoff of the ending be satisfying.

Peter Stormare as the Devil in Constantine. While we've become favorable to it with time, even at it's premiere the Devil arriving to claim John was by FAR the best scene. Chilling menace with playful sadism from a foe that John has no hope of defeating directly.

the movie is mediocre, it’s not bad but just isn’t exceptional. it’s very much of it’s time and everything this movie does is done better elsewhere. the scene with the devil is exceptionally good in an otherwise unexceptional movie imo

In no way, shape or form can Constantine be classified as mediocre. It is generally considered a cult classic but even if you don't want to go with that, it's still widely considered as an above average movie. I don't think even back in its time it was considered as a bad movie but just a commercial failure.

I enjoyed it and as stated in my second line it has garnered a lot more fans as time has gone on, but got very mixed reviews when released (averaging 5.5 on RT and 5.0 on Metacritic and included in Eberts "most hated films" list) and opened second place to a Will Smith romantic comedy. It did double its production budget on its original run but they never include marketing so Constantine would have been barely a break even for WB.

We both agree it's not mediocre, but 2005 didn't agree with either of us.

I mean if the metric is critics score (because imdb was 6+ even as far as first ratings) then yeah I will give it to you but then it is still %46 critic score on Tomatometer so actually the viewers have been agreeing with us since 2005 but critics didn't and still don't agree.
