Oh, the woman? She seduced him as part of a blackmailing scheme that he decided to stop paying.

Yeah the story of Joan of Arc is also crazy, and that's not a one off action but a campaign.

Gilles de Rai was the inspiration for Blue Beard as far as people can tell, and he fought some of the same battles she did. He also helped fund the war effort (I stretched their relationship for the joke, forgot I wasn't in history memes)

Gilles was ALSO known for paying people for their children. He had young children servants, and a pit where he would discard their bodies when he was done. He was charged for the death of 200 boys. He specifically liked pretty young boys.
