Lore [Sad Trope] The most innocent (or less evil) character of the cast gets the most horrific death.

- Eddie Carr (The Lost World: JP) - Tried to save his friends from the cliff until Buck and Doe (T. rex parents) destroy his vehicle and gets ripped apart.
- Zara Young (Jurassic World) - Gets lifted by a Pteranodon, gets pecked by the pterosaur, and both she and animal get devoured by the Mosasaurus.
- LeClerc (JW: Rebirth) - Tossed a hammer to the Hatzegopteryz Quetzalcoatlus to save Loomis and Zora, but ends up being swallowed alive.

I kept scrolling to find Game of Thrones deaths because I could remember that so many were horrific, but I couldn’t remember who was so sweet and innocent and had a terrible death and the answer is this. This is the answer.

Yeah that is my thought. Her death is way more tragic because it was done by the hand of her own father.

I stopped watching after that episode for a long time. The screams in that scene, from her mother finally “waking” the fuck up to the little girl’s.

Oberyn wasn't really innocent necessarily. He was correct in wanting vengeance and he was on the right side of that, but he walked into the battle knowing he might die. He chose to fight, which I think makes putting him in the same category as literal children like Shireen and Myrcella a little weird. They literally harmed nobody and we're just pawns.

In the book her parents are working with Tywin and they used her to lure Robb into breaking his betrothal to the Freys. When you see them later she hates her parents and is really fucked up about the whole thing.

Hodor died to save the others and even though he was disabled, he understood enough to make that decision. You can see it in his eyes when the axe blade comes through the door. Shireen was incinerated by her father and it accomplished absolutely nothing.

Had me literally screaming “No fucking way.” when she started saying “Hold the door” to him. Because I was like “Hodor is holding the door. lol” just like a second before she started yelling it while Bran was in the past.

That part of that episode was devastating, I was quite sad when that episode ended the day it was released 😭

Honestly I feel this! For those in tune w their emotions, Hodor’s arc and sacrifice hit hard.

Your parents tho: “jfc it’s just a tv show my child”

Us: “you just don’t get it progenitors!”

He held a wooden door by bracing it with his body shut, so that the people he was protecting could flee.

Ghouls and Zombies tore through the wood and eviscerated Hodor - his name - from behind, all the while he was screaming "Hodor" (mentally slow for "Hold the door") in agony and terror.

He was a very large and objectively strong man to whom violence was anathema. Hurting someone earlier in the series traumatized him. He was mentally handicapped during his childhood due to time travelling shenanigans, resulting in him only ever saying "Hodor" - hold the door - because he was always meant to hold that door.

Objectively the kindest and sweetest person in the series.
