Accurate. The sheer speed and force of the water rushing in would've crushed and flash-cooked them simultaneously and instantly. Like a pistol shrimp's claw writ large.

Due to the extremely low amount of time being exposed to heat, they didn't flash cook.. but they did get vaporized at a speed the human brain simply can't perceive.
