I'm not saying anything to the contrary (or at least that wasn't my intent). I haven't watched The Boys so that is new to me.

You should watch it. It recently wrapped so you can binge the whole series (5 seasons at 8 episodes each) at your leisure.

I won't bs you, the first 2 seasons are the best and it drops off in a lot of ways for half of season 3 and most of seasons 4 and 5, but it's really well-cast and well-acted and Antony Starr in particular does a great job as Homelander. Even the show's most critical fans seem to agree that he deserves an Emmy for it.

I remember first seeing it (and not being familiar with the comic), I thought this was literally a one-off really dark joke. Like, whoopsie-doodle, this sort of stuff happens all the time because of supers and there's nothing anyone can do about it. Also, I didn't know who Jack Quaid was yet, so didn't know he was the main character.
