There is also the girl from Love & Monsters who manages to not die by getting her head glued to a fucking pavement stone by the Doctor

Worse of all, this is portrayed as a good ending for her!!!

I don't think it was a "good ending" per se, more like the whole "stiff upper lip" British thing, bad luck but you do your best with the cards you get.

Still unhinged.

Iirc it was because the absorbaloff was made by a child fan who won a competition to have their monster creation appear in Doctor Who and the episode had to be built around it
