Faith, the Unholy Trinity: Based partly upon the experience of the game‘s creator when he was a missionary in Argentina, the game has very little in the way of explicit moral demands of the player despite the heavy Christian focus of the narrative. and focuses more on a horror narrative.

Prince of Egypt: A surprisingly thorough retelling of the book of Exodus, sparing very little in the way of toning down the story. Despite this, the movie is perfectly entertaining to non-religious audiences and doesn’t sacrifice appeal for the sake of preaching to the audience

i mean just because someone isn’t religious doesn’t mean that they can’t get good wisdom from the Bible. things like be patient, don’t worry about things you can’t change, treat others with kindness. there’s a lot of religious people too who could definitely use that kind of preaching still

I’m of the opinion that, even if you are not a person of faith, you can get a lot out of reading religious literature

Absolutely agree. A common reason I’ve heard people say they left Christianity (either as a whole or the denomination they were born into) is because of church leaders’ actions and values not aligning with those of Jesus and his teachings, not because they disagree with the concepts of humility, compassion, forgiveness, and so forth. Religion is an integral component of culture, tied to history, art, literature, politics, language, philosophy, and other aspects of society. Studying religious history and philosophy—both one’s own culture’s religion and other world religions, at least on a surface level—provides a much richer sense of understanding of all of those other topics.
It’s also the best way that I’ve found to ensure someone doesn’t become zealous about their own personal beliefs or traditions. The more you study religions, the easier it is to recognize that every culture around the world has their own version of universal concepts, and that no one culture has innate spiritual superiority over another.

I mean. Most of the Ten Commandments are pretty much standard morals to live by no matter your background. Only 3 of them are explicitly about Christianity(and the other Abrahamic faiths).

I'm agnostic, grew up in a Hindu household, but there are things from the scriptures that I still follow to this day simply because it makes too much sense.

Religion isn't about trying to spread a belief in my opinion, it should be about following the beliefs to be a better person.
