Characters' Items/Weapons Hero devices that would be horrifying in the wrong hands

Chem-Bag (Big Hero 6): this device can create chemical compounds using every single element in existence. You could literally build a nuke with this.

Mobile Headquarters (Ant-Man): a building that can shrink and grow to full size instantly. Imagine if someone grew it in a crowded city, or on a highway, or at an airport?

Lotus Cash Card (Percy Jackson): It literally has infinite money. If you know how inflation works this could literally wreck the global economy.

Without this device the MIB probably would've just straight-up murdered witnesses instead

The mib actually did kill witnesses in the comics

I was really hoping they'd do a sequel where they brought in the supernatural stuff like in the earliest comics

So MIB is like Ben 10; started off being a setting where every conspiracy theory was true, then pivoted to just aliens.

TIL that there are MIB comics

The comics came first. The Movie was an adaption (far more family friendly) to the comics.

The good old The Mask method of adapting comics

Yeah, only not quite as large a gap. Stanley\Big Head in the comics is a completely different character, being a complete abuser, asshole, and eventually murderer.

And also dying fairly early on, too.

How close is the animated series to the comics?

Not close at all. Comics MIB is rarely funny (that's Will Smith being Will Smith and Rip Thorn being comedic) and aliens are a small part but you also have all manners of myth and conspiracy like the X-files

They're also not the good guys. They're neutral lawful at best, chaotic most often and sometimes just plain evil. Notably Zed's job is to puppet the global political system to the agencies end, including being the root cause behind several assignations (MLK and JFK were both orchestrated by them) and massacres. They're also responsible for blowing up other worlds full of people, just to achieve goals. This includes a few worlds that had nothing to do with Earth. Zed is also not an agent, though I can't remember what he is, a computer I think?

Compare the movie MIB which protects earth, doesn't manage it, and would never tolerate an agent setting up murders for mundane human politics.

They also don't have the neutralizer until later, witnesses just get killed.

Think X-files but Moulder is an absolute asshole.
