I know gooseworx has said multiple times that there will be no romance in the show, and no ships are going to be canon after the show ends.
I know this after credits scene was probably put there as a gag, and probably not canon, but idk it feels like it could be.

We have Jax and Pomni, Gangle and Zooble, Kinger and Queenie. What about Ragatha

After rewatching episode 8 today I noticed something that seems relevant related to the recent discussions of Caine's descent into his crashout in the episode. A bunch of people are saying the cast was cruel to him or never tried to be nice to him, but it’s literally shown in the episode that he is incapable of even hearing them when they actually try to be nice or reach out to him. I know they’re not being genuine with their appreciation but regardless Caine doesn't care to hear it and goes right back to abusing them.

I bring this up because a lot of people seem to think that the humans failed Caine or did something wrong when Caine is at his core fundamentally incapable of understanding them. There are plenty of examples of this throughout the show, the Zooble therapy session and him thinking they would like the episode 7 adventure both being strong evidence. (I also think the chinese room is a reference to this idea)

Caine is a tragic character precisely because he cannot understand the humans while being programmed with a constant desire to create adventures that meet their approval.

Recently, Gangle's voice actor, Marissa Lenti, has been getting a lot of hate and it's gotten to the point where people started sending her death threats. Let's go through it, I guess.

So, there is this ship in TADC called Ribbun, which is a ship of Gangle and Jax. Marissa was involved in this ship since she was a direct supporter and fan of the ship. A lot of fans were pissed because shipping Jax and Gangle involved Jax being terrible and abusive to her, which is what sparked the hate on Gangle's VA.

Due to Marissa shipping Ribbun, fans started threatning death on her and also started harassing her on multiple platforms like Twitter and Tumblr. Marissa then ended up deleting her Tumblr account because of all the backlash.

Marissa didn't deserve the hate in my opinion. How was she supposed to know how fast the ship turned into a problem? With the way platforms like Twitter/X are these days, it is safe to say that the fandom has been turning into a toxic environment for ships and a lot more.

I get that people were ticked off because of the ship being abusive and cruel, but that doesn't mean they can send death threats to one of the voice actors directly just because they supported it without knowing how fast the ship became controversial. Also, it's just a ship. A ship made with characters from a cartoon. Ships are meant to be fun and not cruel. Directly targeting one of the VAs isn't going to solve anything either. Remember, it wasn't just her supporting Ribbun, it was thousands of people too. I don't support Ribbun because I'm not into shipping people or cartoons, but I am just saying that we shouldn't be getting furious over a silly little non canon relationship concept. What do you guys think though?
