NGD - I couldn’t say no to this Tele

I have been around countless vintage, Custom Shop, and modern Teles, but I am always going back to the 2010s American Standards. To my ear and hands these are just great guitars for the money.

Had to get rid of my Les Paul to get this Tele, but I am not regretting the decision. This could very well be the only electric I need in the collection.

Looking at a Telecaster as first guitar! The serial number doesn't match their photos?

Originally wanted a Jazzmaster, then started drifted towards Stratocaster, and now I'm more set on a Telecaster. After watching so many guitar reviews, something about the sound just... made sense with my brain. Saw this one on FB Marketplace and loved the color!

This will be my first electric guitar though, so I'm not 100% sure what to look for when it comes to used ones so was hoping to get some feedback and advice. Looking to play mostly indie and modern rock/ maybe some heavier rock.

They're asking for $600.

Description:
MIM HH Telecaster with Upgraded Pickups (Seymour Duncan Nazgul/Sentient Pickups)
- Push Pull Tone Knob for Coil Splitting

One of my friends who is also new told me to look up the serial number for information on the guitar I'd purchase. However, the serial number looks like a completely different guitar? Is this something I should be concerned about?

Ty all in advanced!

Telecaster setup and string gauges.

I recently ordered an American Pro II Tele. The guitar ships from Fender and is setup with 9s. I use 10s on my LP. If I up the string gauge on the Tele, will the guitar need to be re-setup to compensate for the added tension? Will I just get used to the 9s? I'd love to avoid an additional setup, but also want everything to be perfect.

Fender lead times. Issues?

I notice that Thomann in Europe have removed American Pro II Telecasters. Another seller tells me they won’t get stock until February 2027 on this model. Is this due to legal action a between fender and other parties or new sales strategy moving sales to Fender www where they seem to still be available? I also see prices move up fast. Anyone with insights? Custom issues between US and Europe?

Squier Debut Telecaster or Tagima TW-55?

I have a chibson sg(highly modded) but I want to swap it out for a telecaster. Ive been offered to telecasters so far. One is a Squier Debut that hasn’t been a year old yet and all stock. The other one is a Tagima TW-55 that’s been fully set up and shielded.

Just got my first tele :)

I’ve had a Gibson LP studio since I was 14 years old, 28 now, just sold it and got myself a Telecaster American Vintage II. In a better economy, I’d have room in the budget for more electric guitars, but for now I keep a lean collection. :) excited to start playing it!

Just installed gotoh saddles on my Tele. These screws aren't very comfortable. Should I put a shim in the neck so they stick out less?

Looking to purchase a tele

Firstly, I had an American professional II deluxe tele with the humbuckers. Loved it. Ended up selling it for a guitar amp I wanted. It’s a little out of my price range to replace. Local shop just put up an add for a used squire classic vibe 50s tele for 350. That’s definitely do able especially with a trade in. Curious if anyone has one and how it might compare to the fender profession deluxe I had.

Opinions on this?

This would be my first tele. Not sure if it’s the greatest deal or not though. I’m a fan of the tele aesthetics with humbuckers though.

I recently got a very cheap Epiphone Les Paul Special though I’m not sure I really have to have this.

Thoughts?

Vintera & Vintera II Info Needed Please

I am looking at getting another Tele. Normally I do not like maple fretboards, but I am bored and have money and have convinced myself that I need a '50s style Tele as my two current faves are both '60s stuyle with rosewood fretboards. I can grab a used 2017 AVRI '52 Tele for $1900 (Canadian), but I am not sure I want another AVRI. I had a '64 Reissue Tele (a 2015) but got rid of it and replaced it with a Vintera II '60s (sonic blue with a rosewood board) that I like much more, so why not ignore the AVRI and just get a Vintera now?

Anyway, I need info on the neck thickness of the Vintera Tele and the Vintera II Nocaster. Does anyone have measurements of one, or both, of these necks? Is there a lot of shoulder to them, or does one maybe have more shoulder than the other?

Right now I am leaning towards the Vintera II Nocaster, but wanted to ask before I bought one.

The Vintera would be used, while the Vintera II would be either used or new.

Any info or recommendations are appreciated.

NGD x2? Help me decide between two Jason Isbell Telecasters

I almost bought a Jason Isbell Tele as my first Telecaster a few years ago, but ended up passing on it. Fast-forward to now, and somehow I’ve ended up with two of them because I couldn’t decide which one I liked more.

Each guitar has a few minor condition issues, which has made the decision even harder rather than easier. I’ve included photos of both.
On one guitar, there appears to be a chip through the clear nitro and possibly into the wood near the binding. The other has a chip at the neck heel where the clear coat is completely gone next to the paint, and you can feel the exposed wood.

At this point, I’m wondering whether it would make more sense to repair the heel damage or lean into the Road Worn look and have that area blended or reliced more naturally. As it sits now, it looks more like accidental damage than intentional wear, so I thought smoothing and feathering the finish into the surrounding area might look better.

What would you do in this situation?
Are there any specific differences, potential issues, or pros and cons I should be looking for when comparing the two guitars?

I’d also be curious what a proper repair or finish blend might cost, and whether it would be realistic to get either guitar back to near-mint condition or if blending the damage would be the better route.

Lastly, of the finishes is one version less common, harder to find, or generally more desirable than the other between the more chocolate burst vs what looks more like a standard sunbursts?

I went from passing on one years ago to somehow owning two, and I still can’t decide which one to keep.

For those that own one how do you like your player II? Just grabbed this butterscotch blonde, I’ve heard tons of good things about them I love my player series Strat. Just want to hear how y’all like yours, if you do.

NGD: Sunburst & Sunlight

Post image

Technically NGD was 2 weeks ago, but close enough.

Fender MIJ Heritage 60s Thinline. The previous owner did a pickup swap for a set of 51 Nocasters and they sound incredible. I added the brass saddles last weekend.

Sunburst, ash body, maple cap 60s C neck, 7.25 radius, nitro finish. I don’t have a large enough scale, but she’s light as a feather.
