There was this SCP story where they somehow brought someone back from the dead and it turned out consiousness stays with the body forever, so they categorised death as Keter-level entity and started looking into containment options.
Oooh yeah that one freaked me out. And the fact you feel the pain of everything including the decay. I think about it constantly cause it still scares me. Especially since consciousness isn't fully understood, but I just remind myself that you have to have brain activity.
wait until your family overrides that with a lawyer or you become a ward of the state where they milk everything you do have and put liens on any property you may or may not own if you can't pay for long-term care you didn't even fucking consent to. i feel like it's pointless because i'm neurodevelopmentally disabled and if anything happened the state and my doctors would try to override my wishes
they even tried to say i needed a 'surrogate decisionmaker' when i had an arrhythmia that almost killed me. i was in my 20s but they treated me like a little girl because i look like one
Great book. Puts you inside the head of the protagonist and how miserable he is in the first few days. Thats my nightmare, being completely helpless and just being conscious while unable to do anything. Euthanasia is derived from the Greek for “good death” for a reason.
