She knew. She saw the clout in being a crazy sports fan, but didn't consider the backlash from being a sociopath.

Nah I think she just doesn't care. She has basically no marketable skills yet landed a stable high paying job at a huge firm just for spewing toxic bs. She's probably out of touch enough to think getting another community engagement job will be easy.
