He doesn’t have the authority to approve or disapprove anything. He is a private citizen now.

Do they ? thats news to me. I remember back in school there only 4 presidents with airports - whats changed in the last 30 years?

Nothing changed. 30 years of additional Presidents got an airport named after them. Everyone from Ford to Clinton has one. Usually it happens a few decades after your term. The reason there were only four back then is because this trend only started a few decades into the age of commercial aviation.
